Golden Retriever Tries To Steal a Sock but Forgets One Very Important Thing

There’s something about Golden Retrievers and their love of laundry, especially socks, that makes them absolutely irresistible. They aren’t particularly fussy about the socks themselves and don’t seem to care whether they’re clean or dirty. In fact, most of the time, all they really want to do is carry them around and collect them!

Karoline Hunter’s pup, Teddy, absolutely loves socks, but he’s not very good at the sneaky part of retrieving them. In fact, as his mom shared in a recent TikTok video, he has absolutely no ability to be anything other than adorable.

As his mom folds laundry, Teddy stands beside the full basket, staring longingly at the sock on top of the pile. Honestly, if he got any closer, he’d be in the basket! His big dog nose is mere inches from the black athletic sock that’s clearly calling his name.

Mom continues narrating Teddy’s plan as it unfolds, and it’s clear this pup has done this before. She even tells him, “I’m watching you!” But the Golden Retriever isn’t deterred; he’s determined to make off with the coveted sock. He sways back and forth a little before finally getting close enough to reach in and grab it, all while Mom laughs at his complete lack of stealth!

After watching Teddy’s video, TikToker @characterknownas suggested, “This lean over was him saying, ‘I know you’re watching. But I’m taking the d*mn sock, Karoline.’” Meanwhile, @kellyrabideau thought Mom was being a little overbearing, writing, “What’s a guy gotta do to get a decent sock in that house!?”

Many fans defended Teddy, including @melissa, who wrote, “I see you were interrogating my client without counsel again!” And @filandro joked, “That’s entrapment. I would like to contribute to the Doggie Defense Fund. I would also like to see a countersuit for 1 million socks.”

While this Golden Retriever may not be the sneakiest pup on the planet, he’s definitely one of the cutest! Honestly, even if he had his own socks, he’d probably still want the ones he can’t have!
