Travis Lovett and Alice Tully (19News)
A cross-country pursuit ended in bloodshed when a 21-year-old Florida man drove hundreds of miles to track down an old classmate, only to shoot and kill the 18-year-old Girl Scout shielding her, police said.
Travis Lovett is locked up on a $10 million bond, indicted on murder, aggravated burglary, and kidnapping.
According to prosecutors and 19 News, Lovett had become fixated on a former high school classmate who fled Florida for safety in Ohio, taking refuge at the Atwater Township home of 18-year-old Alice Tully.
Lovett hunted down the former classmate in Ohio on Oct. 21. When he first knocked at the door of the home, the two women told him to leave and called for help. He left, but circled back, forced his way inside, opened fire on Tully, and tried to abduct his former classmate, authorities said. Tully died at the scene; she had never met Lovett before that morning.

Lovett sped off but was cornered hours later by troopers in Guernsey County.
Family remembered Tully in a GoFundMe, an active Girl Scout on the verge of her adult transition ceremony, as a fierce protector who died putting herself between danger and a friend.
Lovett is slated to appear back before a Portage County judge on Nov. 10.
