In between the first half of his pro wrestling career, Lesnar took his powerhouse approach elsewhere, and became a UFC fighter turned UFC Heavyweight Champion with five wins, three losses, and one no contest. Looking back, the Hall of Famer believes Lesnar had so much more to give in his MMA tenure; however, a health condition hindered his chances to continue on, which had it not, Heyman believes Lesnar would still be on the UFC mountaintop.

"It's just magic. It's lightning in a bottle. He was my Aryan and I was his Jew. His name was perfect, what a name. Brock Lesnar. You don't have to make up a name," the Hall of Famer said in his interview with Graham Bensinger. "He is the greatest athlete on the face of the planet, and the only reason why he doesn't get the credit he deserves is number one, there is a preconceived notion of what a professional wrestler is. Number two, because diverticulitis robbed him of so much more great athletic accomplishment. If he didn't have diverticulitis, he would've never been defeated in UFC. Never. He'd still be champion today at 49. There's nobody on this planet that could hang with him. No one. No one would get out of the first round with him, there's no way."

Returning to the pro wrestling ring, 2026 was a huge year for Lesnar. At WrestleMania 42, Lesnar swerved the WWE Universe when he teased his retirement after his first loss to Oba Femi. However, four months later, after fighting in their trilogy match, Lesnar officially passed the torch to Femi as the next big guy, and confirmed that his last official match was at this year's SummerSlam.
