Browns vs. Steelers score, live updates: AFC North lead on the line as Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh host Cleveland

Yahoo Sports Staff Updated Sun, November 1, 2026 at 7:44 PM UTC About Our Ads Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement In this story The Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns will meet for the second time this season in a game that will have huge implications for the AFC North.

Both teams are 5-2 on the season and coming off tight wins, with the Steelers getting a one-score win in a low-scoring matchup with the Saints in Paris, and the Browns kicking a walk-off field goal over the Titans.

Cleveland has now won two straight games with walk-off field goals; though the wins have boosted them to a strong start, the Browns would surely like to win a game in more dominant fashion.

That might be hard against the Steelers, who have one of the stronger defenses in the league. But when these two teams met earlier this month, Cleveland ended up with the three-point win.

Follow along with Yahoo Sports for live updates, highlights and more as the Steelers host the Browns in an AFC North showdown in Week 8.

Pittsburgh got down the field in a hurry after Cleveland's latest field goal.

Jaylen Warren started the drive with a 23-yard carry. Pat Freiermuth had a 28-yard reception, and it was followed up by a 15-yard catch from Germie Bernard that got the Steelers on the 1-yard line.

Freiermuth then ran a tush push and forced his way into the end zone for the score.

The Browns trail the Steelers 13-6 with 45 seconds left in the first half.

Cleveland kicker Andre Szmyt is responsible for all of the team's points so far. He most recently made a 49-yard field goal to cut the Steelers' lead to just seven.

Aaron Rodgers is dealing with a tough Cleveland defensive front. He has to keep getting the ball out quickly or throwing it away to avoid getting sacked.

He was sacked on third-and-goal from the Cleveland 8, but Chris Boswell came on for the 37-yard field goal.

Pittsburgh leads 13-3 with 3:19 left in the half.

Cleveland's drive stalled at the Pittsburgh 14-yard line. Facing fourth and five, Todd Monklen decided to take the points.

Kicker Andre Szmyt nailed the 32-yard field goal. The Browns trail 10-3 with 8:43 left in the first half.

Boswell missed from over 50 yards earlier in the game, but this 20-yard attempt was much easier.

The Steelers' kicker made the attempt and now leads 10-0.

After the turnover, Pittsburgh ran five plays and picked up a touchdown.

Rico Dowdle got three straight carries. He took the first for 15 yards, the second for nine yards and then the final for another nine yards, but he bulldozed his way into the end zone.

Deshaun Watson was sacked. The quarterback was in the process of going down and tried to throw the ball.

It came out of his hand weird and was recovered by Pittsburgh.

Initially, it was called intentional grounding, but then replay assist determined that Watson actually didn't have control of the ball and deemed it a fumble which Pittsburgh recovered.

The Steelers got the ball in good field position, but the drive stalled at the Cleveland 39-yard line.

Chris Boswell lined up for the 57-yard attempt, but he missed it wide left.

The game is still tied 0-0 with 10:41 to go in the first.

Browns tight end Harold Fannin Jr. has played well this season, but has struggled to hold onto the ball through tackles.

Fannin was swarmed in the first quarter and he was stripped of the ball just before his knees went to the ground. He was initially ruled down, but Mike McCarthy challenged and the call was overturned.

Pittsburgh takes over for its first drive in the rivalry game.

The Cleveland Browns are back to rostering four quarterbacks as of Week 8, officially activating second-year QB Dillon Gabriel from injured reserve to the active roster.

The team immediately slotted him back in as the QB3, and he will serve as the emergency third quarterback against the Pittsburgh Steelers. While Dillon was out, 2026 sixth-round pick Taylen Green served as the emergency quarterback.
