The driver of the No. 77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet qualified on the pole for Friday night's Black's Tire 200.

At 16 years old, McKee is the youngest pole sitter in the history of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

McKee will lead the field to the green flag for the next-to-last race of the 2026 season. Alongside him will be Layne Riggs, who enters the race ranked second in the points standings, 43 points behind points leader Kaden Honeycutt.

Honeycutt, meanwhile, will start the race from the fifth position. With two races remaining in the season, Riggs is the only driver within a full race worth of points from Honeycutt.

Moments after winning the pole for Friday night's Truck Series race and making history in the process, McKee was pleased with his lap. However, the youngster does not want to settle for less and was disappointed that his second qualifying lap was not faster than the first.

Despite that, McKee will be the front-runner to begin Friday night's race.

"It was a really good lap. Unfortunately, the second lap I thought was going to be even better and I kinda messed up [turns] 3 and 4, but the truck was really, really fast," McKee said.

McKee recently became the 2026 ARCA Menards Series East champion. The native of Williamsburg, Virginia has four career wins in the series across just nine starts.

McKee has also made starts in the main ARCA Menards Series and has four victories across 13 starts. Friday night's Craftsman Truck race will mark his fifth start in the series. McKee already has three top-10 finishes across his first four Truck Series attempts.
