Stevie Wonder has been married three times and has welcomed nine children over the years.
He welcomed his first two kids, daughter Aisha and son Keita, with girlfriend Yolanda Simmons in 1975 and 1977. He then welcomed kids Mumtaz, Sophia, and Kwame in 1983, 1985, and 1988, respectively.
He then welcomed sons Kailand and Mandla with his ex-wife, Kai Millard, as well as daughters Zaiah and Nyah with his wife, Tomeeka Robyn Bracy.
Stevie Wonder is undoubtedly a living legend in music. With songs like “Superstition,” “Isn’t She Lovely?” and “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” Wonder has an extensive repertoire of hit songs that will have everyone singing, dancing, and off their feet. But in addition to being a singer and performer, Wonder is also a dad to nine children.
The Grammy winner first became a father in 1975, when he welcomed his first daughter, Aisha, with his girlfriend Yolanda Simmons. The two then welcomed a son, Keita, in 1997. Six years later, Wonder had his third child, Mumtaz, with vocalist Melody McCully. His fourth child, Sophia, was born in 1985, followed by his fifth child, Kwame, three years later.
With his second wife Kai Millard, Wonder welcomed sons Kailand and Mandla in 2001 and 2005. The pair divorced in 2012. Five years later, in 2017, Wonder married Tomeeka Robyn Bracy. At the time of their wedding, the pair had already welcomed two daughters, Zaiah and Nyah.
Over the years, his kids have gushed over their dad. “So blessed to have such an inspiring and supportive Dad,” daughter Sophia wrote on Instagram in June 2024. “One with an impeccable heart and commitment to his children.”
His support has also encouraged his kids to be ambitious, whether in music or beyond. “I think one of the most influential things my dad ever said to me was, ‘All of your dreams, goals, and ambitions are there in the world waiting for you; it’s more or less just you walking into them,’” son Kailand told Rolling Stone in 2022.

Wonder’s first became a dad when he welcomed his daughter, Aisha Zakia Morris, with Yolanda Simmons. She was born on February 2, 1975.
Aisha was famously the inspiration behind Wonder’s timeless hit “Isn’t She Lovely?”
“I remember writing ‘Isn’t She Lovely?’ — I can almost cry right now thinking about it,” the songwriter told O Magazine, per People. “The sound of my daughter Aisha splashing in the bathtub created a picture,” he added. “That was emotion stuck in a moment, and that can never, ever be taken away.”
The song wasn’t the only time Wonder made fans swoon while talking of his firstborn. “She was the one thing that I needed in my life and in my music for a long time,” he later told Women’s Own magazine, per Rolling Stone.
Over the years, Aisha showed off her singing chops and performed with her father. One of their most famous duets was “How Will I Know” from 2005, for which they were nominated for Best R&B Performance By A Duo or Group with Vocals. Aisha was also featured on a track called “Positivity.”
In addition to their duets, Aisha also accompanied her father on various tours and performances around the world, including his Live At Last, and served as musical director of KJLH, the radio station owned by Wonder.
Around 2000, she became a mother when she welcomed her son, Miles. “My daughter has a little boy,” Wonder told Oprah Winfrey in 2004, per People. “He calls me Pop Pop because I refuse to be called Granddad.”
In 2015, Aisha joined singers like Jennifer Hudson, Janelle Monáe and Ariana Grande in a tribute to her father, Songs in the Key of Life: An All-Star Grammy Salute. In her song, she replaced the lyrics “Isn’t She Lovely” with “My dad is wonderful.”

Wonder’s first child with singer Melody McCully was their son, Mumtaz Ekow Morris, born on October 13, 1983.
At first, Mumtaz resisted going into music like his father, and gravitated to playing football instead. When he was 17, however, he flipped. “The notes started sounding like they actually made sense, people stopped saying, ‘Turn that down,’ and I thought, ‘Maybe I can do this,’” he said in a 2010 interview with Forever Entertainment Media.
Mumtaz then enrolled in Norfolk State University and earned a degree in business and entrepreneurship. There, he continued to hone in on the craft. “I used to play music in college, and my schoolmates used to really like it and encouraged me to do more,” he told Las Vegas Black Image. “I used to sway away from music, because it was something my dad did — and I wanted to make my own career path.”
By 2009, Mumtaz had begun to perform publicly, singing the national anthem in Tokyo for the Notre Dame Japan Bowl, per People. He also provided backing vocals for his father’s tracks “Do It Well” and “Where Is Our Love Song,” which was alongside four of his siblings.
As for his personal life, Mumtaz married his high school sweetheart, Candice. They’ve since welcomed five children, including daughters Berklee Michelle, Bella Marie, and London, as well as sons MJ and Liam.
Per LinkedIn, Mumtaz has largely worked as an insurance field adjuster since 2016, per his LinkedIn. In March 2022, he became an independent consultant in March 2022.

Wonder’s fourth child was his second daughter, Sophia Morris. She was born in July 1985.
In honor of her father and his work with blind children, Sophia partnered with Boodaddy Diamonds to design a necklace that spells out the word “love” in Braille in 2020. “The vision was for it to be inspired by the work that I’m doing with children who are visually impaired,” Sophia shared with toofab. “I’m working on developing a nonprofit, and luckily I was able to share that vision with Boodaddy Diamonds, and we put it together.”
In 2020, Sophia was a coordinator and producer for UNESCO’s World Day for African and Afrodescendant Culture event in San José, Costa Rica. In 2021, Sophia also served as a producer for the Global Citizen Live event in L.A., where her father performed.

Wonder’s fifth child, Kwame Morris, was born on August 6, 1988. He grew up in Sydney, Australia, before moving to L.A. at 12 years old.
He studied sociology with a concentration in media and art at Morehouse College in Atlanta, before starting his career as a creative. Per his LinkedIn, Kwame became a production coordinator for the clothing brand L’AGENCE right out of college in 2013, before moving to Tiffany Casting Company in 2015, where he worked as an assistant to the casting director.
He also has experience as an analyst, working at Sinai Ventures from 2018 to 2019, as well as his current role as a strategic advisor at Chaac Ventures, a position he’s held since 2020. In 2020, Kwame also founded his own eyewear line, Yagan Stone Eyewear, inspired by his father’s extensive eyewear collection. Following in his dad’s footsteps, Kwame also composes and produces music and has collaborated with artists such as TrapMoneyBenny, FNZ, and Edwin Arzu.
In 2017, Kwame and his father made headlines when they followed Colin Kaepernick‘s lead and took a knee together at the Global Citizen Festival in a stance against police brutality. “Tonight, I’m taking a knee for America,” Wonder said at the event. “Not just one knee, but I’m taking both knees. Both knees in prayer for our planet, our future, leaders of our world and our globe. Amen.”
On the personal side, Kwame became a dad when he welcomed a child named Kenzo with his partner Akira Egawa in 2023.
Kailand Morris

Wonder’s first child with his second wife, stylist and fashion designer Kai Millard, was a son named Kailand Morris. He was born in September 2001.
Early on, Kailand soaked up inspiration from both the music and fashion world. He would, for instance, join his mom in fashion shows and fittings. “From what I remember, just me being young at these shows, I was always [thinking] this is really, really cool,” he told Rolling Stone in 2022.
Soon, he also ventured into modeling, walking his first runway at Dolce & Gabbana’s spring/summer 2019 show in Milan. “I guess I was gaining a more personal one-on-one experience with the designers,” Kailand explained, noting that his real passion is fashion design. “Seeing how they operate.”
As he started his career in fashion, he soon connected with Kanye “Ye” West and collaborated on his brand, Yeezy. “For a good while, I was with them in Atlanta,” Kailand said of the Yeezy team. “I was doing architecture design, just coming up with concepts. I was doing designs for a lot of the clothing and the Yeezy Gap stuff. I’d also be in there mixing dip dyes and playing with different colors and whatnot. It was really just however you can implement yourself in getting it done, let’s do it.”
In 2020, he released a T-shirt design under his fashion line, House of K.O.M. The proceeds went to the Black Lives Matter movement, per Women’s Wear Daily. He then launched a second T-shirt collection with the Italian brand Iceberg in October 2020.
Like his father, Kailand also had a talent for music from a young age. “Back when I was a little younger, I used to go on tour with my Dad,” he told Pause magazine in 2018. “When I told him that [‘Superstition’] was my favorite song, he was like, ‘Why don’t you come out and play it with me?’ So I ended up playing the drums to ‘Superstition’ because he always closed with that song.”
Mandla Morris

Wonder and Millard’s second son together was Mandla Kadjaly Carl Stevland Morris. He was born on May 13, 2005.
At just 13 years old, Mandla got a taste of show business when he competed on Dancing with the Stars: Juniors with partner Brightyn Brems. “My dad is very supportive with stuff like this,” he told Access Hollywood in 2018. “The first thing that he said was, ‘If you’re gonna do it, you have to be really dedicated because it’s gonna take a lot of work.’” At the time, he also shared his hopes to one day become a designer and actor.
In one episode, his dad made an appearance on the show singing “Isn’t She Lovely?” while his son and Brems danced. “It means so much to me,” Mandla said of his dad’s appearance, per People. “Thank you so much, Dad, for coming out and performing with me. I really appreciate it.”
Over the years, he’s also shown a passion for performing. He sang on “Where Is Our Love Song” with his father and siblings in 2020 and recently performed at the Calvin Jones Big Band Jazz Festival. “I had the privilege of touring the UK over the summer, and I am incredibly grateful for this experience,” he wrote on Instagram in November 2025. “I was able to learn so much being surrounded by such incredible musicians and people!”

Wonder’s third wife is Tomeeka Robyn Bracy. They tied the knot in July 2017 and welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Zaiah, sometime before 2014.
In 2020, she joined her siblings in the “Where Is Our Love Song” song with their dad, and, in December 2022, performed with Wonder at his House Full of Toys Benefit Concert.
Nyah Morris
Much like her sister, little is known about Wonder’s youngest child, a daughter named Nyah. She was born in 2014.
At the time, reports speculated that Wonder was expecting triplets. In an appearance on The View, he quickly shut down the rumors. “I got, how many, 22 kids?” he joked, per Us Weekly. “It’s not true. The truth is we’re going to have a wonderful daughter, born in December, [and her] name is going to be Nyah, which is ‘purpose.’”
She also participated in the “Where Is Our Love Song” performance.
