Lauren Bennett tragically passed away on May 29 at 36 years old after informing her husband she was heading out for a walk. The vocalist, who reached number one with the worldwide smash Party Rock Anthem alongside duo LMFAO, was discovered deceased in woodland after telling her husband, Kenny Wormald, she was going for a stroll.

An inquest this week confirmed that Lauren died by suicide after being found by Kenny and her father, Richard. At the time of her death, she was under the care of "special mental health services" and had been enduring "substantial psychological suffering" since being sectioned four months prior, the inquest was told.

Assistant coroner Jyoti Gill delivered a verdict of suicide and noted Lauren "continued to report symptoms of distress regarding the effects of the prescribed medication" and had attended an appointment with mental health services days before her death.

Kent and Medway Coroners' Court heard on May 29 that Lauren informed Kenny she was going for a walk at approximately 9 a.m.

When she didn't come back, he and dad Richard searched for her using the Find My Phone feature and located her body in nearby woodland, reports the Express.

The court was informed Lauren had been diagnosed with a genetic condition, Fragile X syndrome, which triggers a broad spectrum of challenges, including cognitive impairment and learning difficulties.

The star's dad, Richard, shared with the inquest his daughter had lived an "amazing life" after securing a record deal at just 17 and relocating to the U.S. from Kent, England, by herself. Throughout her career, the mother-of-one initially rose to prominence with girl group Paradiso Girls, whose 2009 track Patron Tequila featuring Lil Jon made waves on both U.S. and Canadian charts before the band parted ways a year later.

Lauren subsequently appeared on Party Rock Anthem alongside LMFAO and GoonRock, which became one of 2011's most massive hits, achieving worldwide success and reaching number one across the U.K., U.S., Canada, Ireland and Australia.

In 2013, she became part of G.R.L., established by producer Robin Antin following her track record of creating the Pussycat Dolls; though the band dissolved following the tragic suicide of member Simone Battle.

Bennett came back when G.R.L. reformed with fresh members in 2016 and once more in 2020.

In a collective statement, the group expressed: "It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren. Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us.

"We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us. Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved.

"Rest peacefully, sweet Lauren. You will always be in our hearts," they concluded.
